Nordic Investment Opportunities Fondsmæglerselskab A/S (NIO) has closed its first fund, Co-investment Vehicle I (CIV I). The final close was reached 23 December 2019 with an investment capacity of EUR 330 mn.
We are very pleased with the warm welcome that we have received from both investors and the industry in general, making a successful final close with the fund’s target size of EUR 330 mn possible. This serves as proof that investors have confidence in NIO’s approach to robust and fruitful investments.
NIO has established CIV I in order to construct a diversified portfolio of high-conviction investments through 8-12 well-renowned funds across vintages and asset classes applying best-in-class private market strategies.
CIV I has so far invested in three best-in-class private market funds and plans to invest in additional funds across private equity, infrastructure and real estate. The fund will target managers that on a stand-alone basis provide attractive risk-adjusted returns with an emphasis on critical features such as; strong alignment of interests between the manager and investors, cohesive and strong team, proven track record, proven operational capabilities, and funds with HQ in Western Europe or North America.
CIV II is in the market
Due to the great interest and market appetite in CIV I, NIO is now launching CIV II as a successor to CIV I. CIV II will to a wide extent invest semi-parallel with CIV I in the same underlying funds – this aggregated approach will create significant investor benefits such as e.g. economies of scale.
NIO is a pioneer in providing access to best-in-class private market funds for professional investors like family offices, foundations, institutions and high-net-worth individuals.
NIO is registered with the Danish Financial Supervisory Authority (DFSA or Finanstilsynet) and is authorized to operate as an investment firm (fondsmæglerselskab) in Denmark.
