Board of directors

Bjarne G. Larsen

Chairman of the Board & Chairman of IC

Bjarne has broad experience from the financial sector, both as a manager and as an investor. Most recently he has served as CIO at Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan and previously he held the same role at ATP. He has also served as Co-CEO at FIH Erhvervsbank and the CFO at Novo A/S. Bjarne has previously been a member of the Board of Directors of Topdanmark, and served as Chairman of the Investment Committee for Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners Fund II.

Jesper Koefoed

Deputy Chairman of the Board

Jesper has had an accounting and consulting career for 35 years. He holds a Master’s Degree in accounting, auditing and tax and was furthermore registered as a Certified Public Accountant. He was a partner with first KPMG and later Ernst & Young for 20 years, serving as Managing Partner/Chairman for 14 years, during which time he also audited and advised major Danish Corporates. He also served on KPMG’s global board and was later Deputy-Managing Partner for Ernst & Young Nordics. Since July 2019, he has pursued a non-executive board career and is currently the Chairman of Pihl & Søn, LM Byg and BNS, and Board member and Chairman of the Audit Committee of Realkredit Danmark and Danica Pension.

Michael Wolf

Member of the Board

Michael has more than 30 years of experience from the financial industry. Throughout his career, Michael has held several positions, such as CEO of Swedbank, Intrum Justitia and senior positions at Skandia and SEB.
Michael has also served several company boards such as Chairman of Capio, Chariman of Stockholm Chamber of Commerce, Chairman and co-founder of the Anna Lindh Academy, Deputy Chairman of the Swedish Banking Association.
Presently he is Chairman of The Opportunity Company and Idrott Utan Gränser. Furthermore, Michael is Partner at Bellbird AB and an active Advisor and Investor in several companies. Among others he advised Blackstone in its acquisition of Luminor Bank.

Lars Thoresen

Member of the Board

Lars has held several significant management positions within Verdane Capital, where he has been a Partner/Managing Partner since 2003. Lars is also an experienced board member within private equity, venture capital, investment banking, investment and corporate development. Lars has amongst other been Chairman of the Board of Directors in Cxense ASA (formerly listed OSE), Napatech A/S (listed OSE) and NextGenTel ASA (formerly listed OSE). Current Board positions include Carn Capital AS, Komplett ASA, Arundo Inc. Of former Board positions can also mention Opera Software ASA (formerly listed OSE) and CRF Health Inc.

Christian Frick

Member of the Board

Christian holds more than 17 years of experience in private equity and has spent close to a decade working specifically in the financial services sector. He has worked as an investment advisor to the Nordic Capital funds since 2003 and been a Partner at Nordic Capital Investment Advisory AB since October 2014. Christian also holds several board and advisor positions within reputable, regulated companies and is currently a member of the Board of Directors in MFEX Mutual Funds Exchange AB, Nordnet Bank AB and Nordax Bank AB. He has previously also served on the board of Resurs Bank AB for seven years.

Mogens Thorninger

Mogens has a market leading reputation within PE/alternative investment structures and infrastructure projects and assets. He is a seasoned negotiator and assists clients on general corporate and commercial legal issues. Regular clients include Danish institutional investors, private equity funds, government related entities and major corporates.

Ashvind K. Guness

Ashvind has experience with alternative investments – from sourcing investments, over fundraising, transaction structuring and execution, to post-execution monitoring and exit. He has most recently served as Investment Director at the Alternative Investments team at Danske Bank and has previously been Senior Transaction Manager at DONG Energy. Ashvind holds an M.Sc. in International Business from Copenhagen Business School and an MA in International Management from CEMS.

Christian Meinicke

Christian brings strategy and business development experience from McKinsey & Company and most recently private equity real estate firm NREP where he focused on fundraising and business development. Prior to NREP and McKinsey, Christian worked as a derivatives banker in Royal Bank of Scotland and worked pro-bono for an NGO analyzing alternative financing solutions. Christian holds a Master of Science in Finance and Economics from London School of Economics, a Bachelor of Science in Economics from University of Copenhagen, and a Graduate Diploma in Law from BPP Law School.

Brian Nordlund

Brian brings a wealth of experience from his +15 years working with alternative investments for private equity and asset managers.
As a Partner in both IIP Denmark and Advantage Investment Partners, Brian has assumed responsibility of both operations and investment activities. Brian also brings experience from a decade in management consulting. From his work as Engagement Partner at Qvartz, he served several private equity managers and supported value creation in portfolio companies.
Brian holds an M.Sc. in Finance and Accounting and a B.Sc. in International Business from Copenhagen Business School.

Nina Broen

Nina has served as corporate counsel in Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) where she developed the legal and compliance department. Further, Nina has been a part of the management of the CIP managed fund, Artemis, from 2015 - 2018. Before joining CIP, Nina was an attorney at Kromann Reumert Law Firm advising clients in business and commercial law matters. She holds a Master of Law from The University in Copenhagen.

Michael Baltzer

Michael brings with him +25 years of experience from the financial sector. He has held several positions within Private Banking at Danske Bank, Saxo Bank and Handelsbanken. Michael has also been responsible for the Private Equity programme within Danske Bank (Merchant Bank). He holds a Master in Tax (LL.M) from Copenhagen Business School.

Erik Hougs

Erik has extensive knowledge and experience within business development and asset management - both in start-ups and established companies. Erik established Nordic Solar Energy - an alternative investment fund focusing on solar energy, where his focus was fundraising and development. Previously, he worked with customer service and sales in Miranova and Steffen Rønn Fondsmæglerselskab.
Erik holds a Master of Science in Economics from The University of Copenhagen.

Daniel Illum Dalegaard

Daniel brings with him M&A advisory experience from SEB Corporate Finance and industrial experience from Daimler’s own retail network. Most recently Daniel has worked with investments and portfolio management at Danske Bank Wealth Management & Danica Pension’s Alternative Investments team, where he has been responsible for a portfolio of private market investments (both funds and direct investments). Daniel holds a Master in Finance and Accounting from Copenhagen Business School.

Martin Due Jensen

Martin has more than 20 years of international financial sector experience from both public and private institutions in Denmark and abroad. Martin worked with corporate and structured finance for Deutsche Bank in London and New York, and with investment management for the Asian Development Bank based in Manila. For the past four years, Martin has worked with alternative investments for Danske Capital and Alternative Equity Partners based in Copenhagen. Martin holds an MBA from London Business School.

Andrew A. Yousef

Andrew is part of NIO’s investment team and focuses on sourcing and analysis of investment opportunities across asset classes. Andrew holds a MSc in Finance and Strategic Management and a BSc in International Business, both from Copenhagen Business School, and has completed coursework at London School of Economics and Korea University Business School in Seoul. He brings with him consulting experience from NNIT A/S and finance experience from ISS A/S.

Karim Aoussar

Karim is part of NIO’s investment team as a Part-time Analyst. Prior to joining NIO, Karim worked as a Project Coordinator in the U.S. for a non-profit foundation for several years. After returning to Denmark, Karim worked as an Analyst in Saxo Bank. Karim holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics and is currently pursuing an MSc in Economics, both from the University of Copenhagen, and has completed studies at Harvard University and the London School of Economics. During his studies, Karim has also taught an elective course in Advanced Statistics at the University of Copenhagen.

Isa Vinther Jessen

Isa is part of NIO’s investment team as a Part-time Analyst. Isa has prior experience with fund-of-funds investments from Vækstfonden, where she has worked as a part of the investment team. Isa holds a BSc in International Business from CBS, where she is also currently pursuing a MSc in Finance and Investments. Additionally, Isa has completed coursework at the University of Victoria, Canada.

Charlotte Christensen

As Process Manager, Charlotte assists NIO’s management and investor relations team. She has several years of experience with transaction-related work from the legal industry and holds a Graduate Diploma in Management Accounting and Process Management from CBS and a MA in International Business Communication from Aarhus BSS.
