Board of directors

Michael Wolf

Chairman of the Board

Michael has more than 30 years of experience from the financial industry. Throughout his career, Michael has held several positions, such as CEO of Swedbank, Intrum Justitia and senior positions at Skandia and SEB.
Michael has also served several company boards such as Chairman of Capio, Chariman of Stockholm Chamber of Commerce, Chairman and co-founder of the Anna Lindh Academy, Deputy Chairman of the Swedish Banking Association.
Presently he is Chairman of The Opportunity Company and Idrott Utan Gränser. Furthermore, Michael is Partner at Bellbird AB and an active Advisor and Investor in several companies. Among others he advised Blackstone in its acquisition of Luminor Bank.

Bjarne G. Larsen

Deputy Chairman & Chairman of IC

Bjarne has broad experience from the financial sector, both as a manager and as an investor. Most recently he has served as CIO at Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan and previously he held the same role at ATP. He has also served as Co-CEO at FIH Erhvervsbank and the CFO at Novo A/S. Bjarne has previously been a member of the Board of Directors of Topdanmark, and served as Chairman of the Investment Committee for Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners Fund II.

Stig Pastwa

Member of the Board

Stig is currently serving as Partner at Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), with a role of CFO. Stig has extensive experience from the financial industry having served as the CFO at TDC A/S and Codan/Trygg-Hansa. Stig has held several positions at Saxo Bank and has been responsible for banking and online investments operations. In addition to these roles, Stig has been the CFO and the CEO at DSB. He has served on the board of several regulated entities as part of his roles at Saxo Bank. Stig is currently serving on the Board of Global Knowledge Inc and Apleona AG.

Jesper Koefoed

Member of the Board

Jesper has had an accounting and consulting career for 35 years. He holds a Master’s Degree in accounting, auditing and tax and was furthermore registered as a Certified Public Accountant. He was a partner with first KPMG and later Ernst & Young for 20 years, serving as Managing Partner/Chairman for 14 years, during which time he also audited and advised major Danish Corporates. He also served on KPMG’s global board and was later Deputy-Managing Partner for Ernst & Young Nordics. Since July 2019, he has pursued a non-executive board career and is currently the Chairman of Pihl & Søn, LM Byg and BNS, and Board member and Chairman of the Audit Committee of Realkredit Danmark and Danica Pension.

Mogens Thorninger

Mogens has a market leading reputation within PE/alternative investment structures and infrastructure projects and assets. He is a seasoned negotiator and assists clients on general corporate and commercial legal issues. Regular clients include Danish institutional investors, private equity funds, government related entities and major corporates.

Sebastian Siegl

Sebastian has held various management positions with companies like Carnegie and SEB as Global Head of Investment Strategy and Head of Private Banking, Sweden, respectively. Sebastian has earned a Ph.D. on the topic Socially Responsible Investing as well as double master degrees in Commercial Law and Business Administration.

Ashvind K. Guness

Ashvind has experience with alternative investments – from sourcing investments, over fundraising, transaction structuring and execution, to post-execution monitoring and exit. He has most recently served as Investment Director at the Alternative Investments team at Danske Bank and has previously been Senior Transaction Manager at DONG Energy. Ashvind holds an M.Sc. in International Business from Copenhagen Business School and an MA in International Management from CEMS.

Christian Meinicke

Christian brings strategy and business development experience from McKinsey & Company and most recently private equity real estate firm NREP where he focused on fundraising and business development. Prior to NREP and McKinsey, Christian worked as a derivatives banker in Royal Bank of Scotland and worked pro-bono for an NGO analyzing alternative financing solutions. Christian holds a Master of Science in Finance and Economics from London School of Economics, a Bachelor of Science in Economics from University of Copenhagen, and a Graduate Diploma in Law from BPP Law School.

Brian Nordlund

Brian brings a wealth of experience from his +15 years working with alternative investments for private equity and asset managers.
As a Partner in both IIP Denmark and Advantage Investment Partners, Brian has assumed responsibility of both operations and investment activities. Brian also brings experience from a decade in management consulting. From his work as Engagement Partner at Qvartz, he served several private equity managers and supported value creation in portfolio companies.
Brian holds an M.Sc. in Finance and Accounting and a B.Sc. in International Business from Copenhagen Business School.

Nina Broen

Nina has served as corporate counsel in Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) where she developed the legal and compliance department. Further, Nina has been a part of the management of the CIP managed fund, Artemis, from 2015 - 2018. Before joining CIP, Nina was an attorney at Kromann Reumert Law Firm advising clients in business and commercial law matters. She holds a Master of Law from The University in Copenhagen.

Sophia Sahin

As Executive Assistant/Admin Manager, Sophia is responsible for supporting the management team in Nordic Investment Opportunities. Sophia has significant experience with administrative project management and coordination within private equity. Prior to joining Nordic Investment Opportunities, Sophia served Altor Equity Partners for several years as Executive Partner Assistant and Office Coordinator. Sophia holds a Master’s Degree in Intercultural Market Studies and German from Copenhagen Business School.

Michael Baltzer

Michael brings with him +25 years of experience from the financial sector. He has held several positions within Private Banking at Danske Bank, Saxo Bank and Handelsbanken. Michael has also been responsible for the Private Equity programme within Danske Bank (Merchant Bank). He holds a Master in Tax (LL.M) from Copenhagen Business School.

Erik Hougs

Erik has extensive knowledge and experience within business development and asset management - both in start-ups and established companies. Erik established Nordic Solar Energy - an alternative investment fund focusing on solar energy, where his focus was fundraising and development. Previously, he worked with customer service and sales in Miranova and Steffen Rønn Fondsmæglerselskab.
Erik holds a Master of Science in Economics from The University of Copenhagen.

Lars Bjerrek

Lars brings with him +30 years of experience from the financial sector. Lars has held various management positions within corporate banking, private banking and asset management.
Lars has served as CEO at SEB Private Bank S.A. and as Director and CEO at Öhman Wealth Management AB/Öhman Bank S.A.
He has also been overall responsible for wealth management within Öhman Group, Global Head of Private Banking and member of the Management Committee at Carnegie Investment Bank AB.
Lars holds a Master's Degree in Business and Public Law from the University of Gothenburg.

Daniel Illum Dalegaard

Daniel brings with him M&A advisory experience from SEB Corporate Finance and industrial experience from Daimler’s own retail network. Most recently Daniel has worked with investments and portfolio management at Danske Bank Wealth Management & Danica Pension’s Alternative Investments team, where he has been responsible for a portfolio of private market investments (both funds and direct investments). Daniel holds a Master in Finance and Accounting from Copenhagen Business School.

Martin Due Jensen

Martin has more than 20 years of international financial sector experience from both public and private institutions in Denmark and abroad. Martin worked with corporate and structured finance for Deutsche Bank in London and New York, and with investment management for the Asian Development Bank based in Manila. For the past four years, Martin has worked with alternative investments for Danske Capital and Alternative Equity Partners based in Copenhagen. Martin holds an MBA from London Business School.

Karim Aoussar

Prior to joining Nordic Investment Opportunities, Karim worked at an international level as a Project Coordinator in the United States of America for the FoolProof Foundation and as a Student Assistant in Saxo Bank’s Group Finance unit. Karim also serves as a Student Ambassador to FinanceLab, while pursuing a BSc in Economics at the University of Copenhagen.

Andrew Yousef

Andrew is Part-time Analyst at NIO. Prior to joining NIO, Andrew was Junior Consultant at NNIT, where he as an integral part of project teams advised clients on how to strategically leverage digital technologies. Andrew holds a BSc in International Business and is currently pursuing a MSc in Finance and Strategic Management, both from Copenhagen Business School. During his bachelor studies, Andrew spent one semester at Korea University Business School in Seoul.
